Buyer Raw Materials – Sustainable and Tactical Purchasing
About the function
We are looking for a tactical and sustainable minded person for an internationally operating company in the chemical sector. Buyer. In this role you are responsible for the timely and cost-efficient purchasing of raw materials, resources and services, with the aim of ensuring optimal availability for the organization. You make a direct contribution to the delivery reliability towards customers and to achieving sustainability goals.
Tasks and responsibilities

Contract management: Drafting, managing and monitoring purchasing contracts including conditions, changes and coordination with other departments.

Supplier management: Maintain strategic supplier relationships, negotiate purchasing conditions, monitor agreements and assess performance. Where necessary, take corrective measures to ensure quality.

Collaboration with internal stakeholders: Act as a sparring partner for departments such as Supply Chain, R&D, Quality and Business Units. You support with quality issues and complaint handling.

Stakeholder management: Contribute to the realization of strategic objectives through close cooperation with various internal and external stakeholders.

Sustainability and compliance: Managing sustainability initiatives within the supply chain and monitoring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards (including Ecovadis).

Budgeting and market insights: Contribute to the annual purchasing budget and advise on market developments, price trends and alternative suppliers.
What we are looking for

A completed higher professional or university education in business administration, economics or similar

At least 2 years of experience in a purchasing position, preferably within the chemical industry

NEVI 1 (or comparable) training successfully completed

Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management

Able to work effectively in a matrix organization and multidisciplinary teams

Analytically strong, independent, accurate and communicative

Excellent command of Dutch and English, preferably also German
